An Introvert’s Response to an Invitation

A party you say,
A gathering, indeed,
On Saturday?
Is it a party or stampede?

Children will be there,
Oh my Gawd!
Do I dare,
Endure spoilt child
Spared the rod?
Horrors be,
What if I must flee,
The noise the chaos,
The cacophony?

I will not commit,
So if I must acquit,
And hereby submit:
Just say when,
Just say where,
If I show up,
I’ll be there.
